A home run for the kids of New Berlin. In an effort to give back to our hometown, the Shepherd’s Gift Foundation partnered with the town of New Berlin, NY and its head Little League coach, to rebuild the community baseball field so local children and their families have a place to gather and play ball.
Project Baseball is just one initiative of the foundation’s to give back to the birthplace of Chobani, New Berlin, NY. Like many small towns in America, New Berlin has faced troubled times and budget cuts that left many of the town’s public places rundown and in need of some love. The community’s baseball field, where the local children and Little League teams gather to play, is one of those places in need.
Shepherd’s Gift partnered with New Berlin and its head Little League coach in every step of the rebuilding process: designing, building, and maintaining the field to bring new life to the gathering spot for so many New Berlin families. Construction of the field began in March and was ready for the 1st pitch this past July. The overwhelming number of smiles and cheers at the new ballpark on Opening Night were enough to call this project a success.
