The Shepherd's Gift Foundation is the charitable arm of Chobani, America's #1 yogurt. The foundation gives 10% of Chobani profits annually to a variety of causes, all of which are working to make the world a more positive place while having a generous spirit. Because that's what shepherds do.
What is a shepherd?
You probably know shepherds as people who herd sheep, but in Mediterranean culture where Chobani comes from, shepherds are first and foremost known for their generosity. A shepherd would give a gift without asking for anything in return: a cup of yogurt, a loaf of bread or even the shirt off their back. That is why a Shepherd’s Gift means so much.
This is what inspired Chobani to start the Shepherd’s Gift Foundation, because we have realized that the world is still full of shepherds, big and small. You probably even know a few: your mother, a close friend, an organization, someone in your local community or maybe you’re a shepherd yourself. The important thing to know is that when you combine the power of all shepherds it will make a real difference in the world.
