Hi all! My name is Kristen and I am a Registered Dietitian that gushes about my love of food over at my blog, Swanky Dietitian.
With summer now upon us, it means not only more time in the sun but enjoying good food with friends and family. I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for dips. Whether it’s guacamole, salsa, or a zesty French onion, dips are the perfect compliment to any summer party. Plain Chobani Greek Yogurt makes a fantastic substitute for a common high calorie ingredient found in most dips which is sour cream. Chobani Greek Yogurt provides a slight tartness and creamy texture with much less fat, calories, and with the added bonus of protein.
Chobani Fiesta Dip (serves 12-15)
– 1 C 0% Plain Chobani Greek Yogurt
– 1/4 C cilantro
– 1/2 packet taco seasoning
– 1/4 of an onion, diced
– 1 avocado, diced
– 2 fire roasted green chilies, diced (for garnish)
Combine Chobani Greek Yogurt, cilantro, taco seasoning, and avocado. Top with onion, avocado, and fire roasted green chilies to garnish. Refrigerate. Serve with your favorite vegetables or tortilla chips.
This dip has a refreshing zestiness accented by the cilantro and taco seasoning while the yogurt and avocado lend a hand in blending the creamy textures together.
I made this at a recent family get together and it was a big hit! Hands down, this is one perfect and healthy dip for those hot summer months! Enjoy!
