An article in the Journal of Health Affairs recently reported that 16% of today’s children are obese. Besides decreased physical activity levels, increased snacking was listed by the journal as a major factor affecting childhood obesity rates.
The article looked at surveys from 31,337 kids aged 2-18 years old and found that most ate three or more snacks per day, accounting for more than a quarter of their daily caloric intake.
This is especially alarming since the most commonly eaten snack foods include salty foods, candy, desserts, and sweetened beverages. Yikes!
It’s time to give kids (and parents) healthier snack options. That’s why I’m so proud of our latest and greatest addition to the Chobani family, Chobani Champions.

It’s the first ever Greek Yogurt made just for kids and comes in four creamy, blended flavors:
1. VerryBerry
2. Strawnana
3. Honeynana
4. Chocolate

Unlike the not-so-healthy options that so often fill school cafeterias and vending machines, Champions is an awesome, good-for-you snack choice that kids, and their parents, will love! It’s sold in perfectly portioned 4-ounce cups and is packed with protein, all-natural, contains 5 live and active cultures and 3 probiotics. Yum!
