On Saturday, Hamdi, Chobani’s favorite CEO, was the featured guest on Fox Business News’ “Your Money, Your Questions.”
The show, which is hosted by Dagen McDowell and Tracy Byrne, features entrepreneurs and business industry insiders with unique stories. So of course Hamdi was a great fit. Oh, and did I mention that the show was LIVE?! Even more exciting, huh?
Hamdi was a pro, and I got to watch the magic happen from the show’s green room. It was so cool.
During the hour-long show, Hamdi discussed how Chobani came to be, his background, and talked about the Greek yogurt segment in general. During the show, they took call-in questions from people trying to start their own businesses to which Hamdi, and an awesome panel of 3 other experts, gave advice about things they had learned from their own experiences.
Throughout the interview Hamdi, kept coming back to 2 of his core beliefs about running a successful business:
1) THE PEOPLE: You need good people to run a good business.
Hamdi started Chobani in 2005 with 5 core workers, all of who are all still with us today: Frank, Maria, Rich, Mike, and Mustafa. Since then, he’s grown the business to include 175 members of the Chobani family. To this day, each and every single worker is nurtured so as to help best develop their individual talent and skill set. (I feel so lucky to be one of those employees!)
2) THE PRODUCT: If you have a good product that you’re passionate about (passion is key), success is possible.
Below are some of my favorite pictures from the day. Check back soon: I’ll post a link to the entire interview as soon as it’s available online.
